Direct seed drills

Direct sowing (No-till) seed drills are adapted for sowing into uncultivated soil. It is possible to sow directly into stubble using No-Till technology by incorporating fertilizers. These drills are characterized by high pressure force of the seed drill, which can reach up to 350 kg per seed disc. This is ideal for seed drills without tillers  for the application of technology.

What is No-Till technology?

No-Till is a no-till direct sowing method, when sowing directly into uncultivated fields, without prior plowing or cultivation of the soil. Instead, direct seeders, which places the seed precisely into the existing layer of plant residues, reducing soil damage.

This method is increasingly being used in modern farms because complies with the principles of sustainable, cost-effective and climate-friendly agricultureHe also contributes to cost reduction on your farm because it requires fewer working hours, fewer different implements, and less fuel.

Main advantages:

  • Preservation of soil structure – No-Till helps prevent soil erosion, maintains the humus layer and improves water absorption. This is especially important in light or hilly soils.
  • Soil moisture retention – Direct seeding allows you to preserve the moisture content of the soil because the surface is not opened. This is very important during periods of drought or in sandy regions.
  • Lower fuel and labor costs – By eliminating plowing and other preparation work, farmers can save on fuel, equipment depreciation costs, and labor time. No-Till allows for fewer passes in the fields.
  • Carbon storage and CO₂ emission reduction – Less soil movement helps store carbon in the soil – contributing to climate change mitigation and sustainable farming.
  • Maintaining biodiversity – No-till farming creates more favorable conditions for soil microorganisms – which improves long-term soil fertility.
  • Long-term economic payback – While the initial transition to No-Till may require investment, in the long term this method quickly pays for itself due to lower costs and more stable yields.

Tips for choosing a direct seed drill

1. What is the soil preparation on your farm?

– Direct seed drills are best suited for no-till farming, where the aim is to preserve soil structure. If you are sowing or want to sow into uncultivated or minimally cultivated soil, it is necessary to choose a seed drill that effectively penetrates stubble and plant residues. FARMET No-Till direct seed drills can help you save time, costs and contribute to the creation of an efficient farm.

2. How big is your farm?

– For those with large areas, it is recommended to choose seed drills with a larger working width and capacity to reduce the frequency of filling and increase productivity. To meet your expectations and work efficiently, the direct seed drill must be appropriately capable according to your farm standards.

3. Is seeding accuracy and spacing adjustment important?

– Modern direct seed drills have advanced metering and depth control systems that allow you to maintain a uniform seeding depth and density. If your farm's goal is higher yields and productivity, it is worth investing in seed drills equipped with this technology.

4. What is the tractor's power?

– Choose a direct seed drill that matches the technical parameters of your tractor. Different models and working widths require different traction power – it is important to ensure efficient work without fatigue or excessive fuel consumption.

5. What crops do you usually sow or plan to sow with a direct seed drill?

– Some direct seed drills allow you to plant a variety of crops (grains, legumes, catch crops). If you plan to grow different crops, it is worth choosing a model with variable seeding rates so that you can adapt it to your individual needs.

6. Operating costs

– Direct seed drills help reduce fuel costs and protect the soil. Choose a drill with low-maintenance parts – this will save you money and time in the long run.

Direct seed drills – designed for no-till sowing

No-Till Direct Seeders Ideal for farms that are looking for higher productivity and want to work efficiently while protecting the soil from erosion. Using this sowing technology makes the soil healthier and more vibrant.

Multiva Forte Fx is a reliable, versatile and highly accurate sowing technology on the market. Unique design of sowing units ensures accurate seed placement in all conditions. Seeds and fertilizers are sown simultaneously with the same disc, at different depths. Forte seed drills can be used with No-Till technology, into minimally tilled or fully tilled soil. Precise sowing results are achieved with the patented direct seeding units. The working depth is adjusted with a press wheel behind the seeding unit. The press wheel is slightly in front of the disc, so crop residues are cut off much more effectively, avoiding their pressing into the soil.

These Multiva direct no-till seed drills significantly reduces fuel costs and helps protect the soil.

We can also offer high-end direct seed drills Farmet Falcon PRO, which stand out due to the ability to easily change the front working No-till disc section to a Strip-till coulter or double disc harrow section and apply a different sowing technology with the same seed drill.
