What benefits do Müthing mulchers provide for crops?

Muthing technology is particularly valuable for corn growers due to its effectiveness in combating corn borers. By shredding plant residues, the wintering grounds of this pest are destroyed, which significantly reduces its population in the field. Mulching also contributes to the prevention of the spread of Fusarium fungi - one of the most common diseases, which is characterized by a long survival period in the soil and a negative impact on the quality of the crop. Meanwhile, in rapeseed fields, mulching ensures more efficient germination of loose shoots, which allows for a natural reduction in the amount of unwanted shoots and the use of additional chemical agents. Why Müthing?

Convenient control of the chopping intensity - the distance between the pre-knife and the cutting edge can be adjusted both manually and hydraulically from the tractor cabin. With a short distance to the pre-knife, extremely intensive chopping is achieved, which accelerates the mineralization of plant residues. If a larger distance is selected, the residues are left in larger fractions.

The position of the support roller is also important – it can be adjusted according to the desired result. When the roller is positioned at the rear, the residues are spread in front of the roller, which ensures better contact with the soil, faster germination and less dust. When the roller is in front, the residues are spread behind the mulcher – this allows for a free, even spread, promoting rapid mineralization of the residues. Such a design also ensures stable maintenance of the working height, regardless of the terrain.

The MU-Vario® system combines an adjustable body shape, adjustable PTO speed, a skid plate and a pivoting support roller. This means that one implement can be used for both stubble and catch crops or headlands – eliminating the need for multiple different devices.

Müthing, in cooperation with TÜV NORD, has successfully passed tests for the ejection of objects during operation. The safety distances are reduced to 2 meters on the sides of the machine and 8 meters in front and rear. A mechanical collision protection mechanism is also installed to protect the tractor and equipment from obstacles.
