No-till seed drills are designed for sowing into uncultivated soil
The modular Farmet Falcon Pro seed drill is designed for sowing into uncultivated soil. The seed drill is unique in that it can be easily replaced with a front working No-till disc section for a Strip-till coulter or double disc harrow section and use the same sowing technology.
Working depth and row spacing
When sowing with the Falcon Pro seed drill with No-Till cultivation section, the working depth reaches 5 cm, and the fertilizer application is 10 cm.
- Primary soil levelling zone. A precisely levelled soil surface allows the seedbed to be evenly consolidated and loosened.
- Soil preparation area. The soil can be cultivated in different soil preparation sections, either across the entire drilling width or in zones up to 25 cm deep. Primary tillage enriches the soil with air, levels it and optimises loosening. It also spreads plant residues.
- Fertiliser application zone. Granular fertiliser shall be applied in the root zone of the future plants, either in each row or between two rows. The fertiliser placement depth can be between 6 and 25 cm, depending on the section chosen.
- A zone for soil compaction and restoration of deep soil capillarity. Good compaction ensures efficient water infiltration to the soil surface even in dry conditions.
- Zone for levelling the soil and spreading crop residues before sowing. The coulters effectively smooth the soil surface and remove plant residues from the row.
- Seedbed formation and seed placement area. The double disc sowing discs efficiently form a compacted soil for sowing (V-shaped furrow) and accurately place the seed at the right depth. Thanks to the high clamping force, up to 70 kg of the % machine weight can be transferred to the sowing discs. The compacted seedbed and the V-shaped furrow ensure excellent seed contact with the soil and soil moisture.
- Lateral seed clamping zone. The copying wheel compresses the V-shaped groove with the seed, so that the seed and the soil are pressed together laterally. The soil above the seed remains loose, which significantly improves seed germination.
- Seed cover and soil levelling zone. The integrated harrows ensure perfect seed coverage and precise levelling of the soil surface.
