Liudas J., director of UAB Green Terra in the Lazdijai District, shares his impressions of the ordered feed preparation services.
„We order these services because it makes more financial sense for our farm,“ says Liudas. He ordered grass mowing and hay bale production services. This isn’t the first time Liudas has ordered our services.
We provide grass cutting services using two Krone EasyCut rear-mounted mowers. „The service is performed with a butterfly mower equipped with rubber rollers designed for leguminous grasses. This breaks up the grass, allowing it to dry much faster and more evenly. The mower has guide rails that direct the forage into the central swath, so no additional rake is needed,“ Liudas explains, describing the mowing process. As he explains, when cutting grass with a rubber conditioner, the alfalfa leaves remain intact—only the stems are crushed—so the grass withers very quickly and evenly.
„I hire a baling service because they use a high-quality Goweil G1 F125 Kombi baler-wrapper, which allows the work to be done quickly, efficiently, and with high quality. The baler has 30 cutting knives, which produce a very fine fraction in the bale,“ Liudas explains the specifics of the hay bale production service. According to him, using the Goweil Kombi baler-wrapper and its 30 knives results in a high feed compression density, and the bales weigh quite a lot, so it is economically beneficial to produce feed in bales.
