Farmer Eimutis Savickas, as he himself says, started farming completely unexpectedly and unplanned.
In 2004, after taking advantage of EU support, he and his family moved from Vilnius to the Rokiškis district and started with an organic herbal farm - marigolds, valerian, etc. Later, he tried growing herbs, which he liked the most, but eventually settled on growing cereals.

"When the farm is organic, we thresh the last, of course with grass, so our grain is always moist," said the farmer.

Previously, they would transport the harvested grain to nearby farms for drying, but a year ago they purchased a 9-ton mobile grain dryer Esma. This has made farm work much easier.

"I currently work 100 hectares. My farm is 100 percent organic. I grow mainly beans, unhusked oats and buckwheat. I dry everything with the grain dryer and I am very satisfied with it, it is a good thing, and this year I would even say it is necessary on the farm. It also cleans the grain a little," said E. Savickas.
