Farmer Linas K. from Lazdijai District shares his experience of his newly acquired FARMET FALCON 4 COMPACT seed drill.
„We have irregular fields with different shapes and I chose the Farmet Falcon Compact because of its weight and shorter design,“ says the farmer about his choice. It is important to him that the drill is not heavy, that it is easier to pull uphill and that the length of the drill is also important when turning around in headlands. „I chose a disc cultivator because my farm is organic, so it's also very useful to weed before sowing. I also have a hopper for three products: seed, fertiliser and small seeds,“ says Linas. He stresses that he can now sow more easily and accurately at the right depth and at the right rate, which is very important on his farm.
Due to the uneven terrain, the farmer chose a parallel drill for better depth control. „As we have very different fields, with a lot of peat, sand and clay variations in the same field, the pressure regulation on the coulters is very useful. When I see that I'm going into sand, I reduce the pressure so that it doesn't go too deep into the ground,“ says the farmer. As for the software, Linas says he chose a Farmet Ipad tablet, which makes it very easy to control all the functions of the drill, including calibration. „It's really good value for money, it's easy to use and even the smallest details have been taken care of,“ says the farmer.
